Bags are packed and we are off!!

We are so excited to be taking a trip to see Biblical sites with friends Scott and Shelly Carlson! It’s just the 4 of us, so we are being a bit ambitious and taking a number of small flights to visit sites among the islands of the Mediterranean.

We will fly to Rome and then immediately transfer to Paphos, Cyprus (Acts 13:6) where we will spend 2 days. Paul and Barnabus traveled through Paphos and we are excited to explore the archeological site there that includes the Domus of the Roman procurator from the 1st century AD - likely the home of Sergius Paulus and place where Paul and Barnabus appeared before him (Acts 13:7) . We will also see the ancient site of Kourion and early byzantine church remains there.

Next we take a flight to Malta (Acts 28:1). Craig is determined to get better drone footage of St Paul’s Bay (pray for less wind!) and we will visit San Pawl Miliqi and Rabat and of course see some of the crazy cart ruts! Then on to Crete. We will rent a car and drive to Fair Havens and Lasea (Acts 27:8), places mentioned in the Bible. We will visit Gortyn (Titus 1:5) and a couple of Minoan palaces.

On to Syracuse Sicily (Acts 28:12) to see the ancient harbor, Roman ruins and Greek temples. Finally, four packed full days in Rome and Ostia Antica. We have a couple of special tours we are excited about in Rome: the possible insula of St Paul in Rome under the Church of Santa Maria In Via Lata, and a more detailed tour of Santa Pudenziana - an early Christian church dedicated to the daughter of Pudens (2Tim 4:21) on whose home the church was built.

We are praying that God would bless our travel with smooth connections, safety and learning more about the people / culture / world of Biblical times.
