Israel or Bust September 25, 2026!!
Well, we will finally be going back to Israel, God willing!! And God willing will return home safely!
The timing has been either crazy or miraculous depending on the moment. Our beloved Dad / Father-In-Law was called home to heaven this week. Providentially, we were just home from Eastern Turkiye and able to see him one last time and to be present with Mom the day of and leading up to the funeral. Profound sadness and joy all rolled into one…
Our last time in Israel was 2020. We very nearly didn’t make it back on March 13, 2020, the day everything shut down due to COVID. Since then, it has been difficult to return, but this is finally it!! The trip in 2020 was an incredible gift from our dear friend Carol and propelled us into a passion for visiting Biblical lands and learning about the archeological. It revived a long abandoned interest that Margery had in ancient Mesopotamian history.
That first visit to Israel was overwhelming! Experiencing standing on stones that Jesus walked, being in places that the patriarchs lived, seeing where our salvation history was physically played out - WOW!! By the last two days, we were so saturated that we barely took any pictures at the last few sites. We’ve learned a lot since, and we are armed with long lists of things to see and photograph differently and just so excited to be back in the Holy Land.
Meanwhile, here are some our favorite pictures from 2020, and some of our misses which we hope to correct!
