Heraklion Archeological Museum and travel to Sircusa

This is a travel day to transfer from Crete to Siracusa Sicily. we didn’t need to be at the airport until noon so we had a big breakfast right on the sea and then went to the Heraklion Archeological museum.

The museum holds many objects and frescos from the Minoan palaces of Knossos and Phastos and Malia. We also saw some of the objects left at the Kamilari Tholos tomb that we hiked up to yesterday. There were domestic and religious objects from Agia Triada plus a beautiful painted Minoan sarcophagus.

Then off to the airport. We had a small layover in Athens then into Catania Sicily. We weren’t exactly sure how we would get from Catania to our hotel in Siracusa, but we figured out the bus and got in 10 minutes before the front desk closed! Not 5 star ( across from train station, messy neighborhood) I’m sorry to say, but it’s a bed and shower so we are happy!

Everyone have a blessed day, PB & Margery, Scott & Shelly
