A long stretch of road in the middle of nowhere Montana!

At one point in my travels Apple Maps (please no haters) asked if I wanted to save some time and take a short cut. I said yes. Not sure if that was a mistake.

I end up in some very solitary expanses of no where. I was glad I had a full tank of gas. (Hint: in Montana fill up whenever you can!). I ended up cutting across some of the most barren land - but oddly beautiful. I can’t count how many times I wanted to stop and put the drone up. But my photography brain kept telling me there is no subject - it’s just vast open fields that look beautiful, but need some subject.

But as I was driving this little house caught my eye. A subject!

I could not imagine living here. In the winter the wind and snow. The empty fields of nothingness. I could never be that alone for any length of time.

But there was more to it. It was captivating to think who lived here and why. The stark absolute beauty of the summer. I was draw to the emptiness of it.
